YES to simple, clean eating with big flavors!
Sometimes, life gets weird.
Weird life, meet weird Auntie.
Now, if you're wondering about ME, you're going to want my other About page on my other blog. That's the blog I keep so you don't have to scroll through my personal diary entry to get to the recipe on this blog. I literally joined Pinterest the day it opened to the public from beta, I know what the ideal recipe blog looks like. And I came to Pinterest as a skilled cook already, with 17 years of experience cooking from scratch meals for my family, two years of formal culinary training, and enough time in commercial kitchens to know that I am a cook, not a chef.

So, after I was diagnosed with allergies to five incredibly common foods in the standard American diet (and in most international diets, too), I was devastated that I had to give up cheese and red sauce on my pasta, but I wasn't worried about how I was going to feed myself. I had definitely lost the convenience of "convenience foods," and needed to cook everything from scratch, but again, I had been taught to cook from scratch as a child.
As an aside, tradwivery used to include home training, y'all. I could keep a kitchen and household at 13, in anticipation of my getting into the courtship market and finding a husband by 17-18, and being a SAHM by no later than 20. Absolutely none of that panned out, but my obviously asexual/aromantic self had some very marketable marriage skills as a teen.
Anyway, I had plenty of kitchen skills, and experience with cuisines from all over the world thanks to that Pinterest account and a few in-person cooking classes, so I knew I could modify any traditional recipe with ingredient swaps and know-how.

I eat real good, even not eating my allergens. And my Notes app was starting to get hectic with all the recipes I was recording. So, this blog was born, for the sorting and searching capabilities alone.

The Menu came from my love/slight obsession for planning occasion meals. Again, this was a rather unwieldy Google Doc until I transferred it to blog form. Being able to share these recipes with other folks with these allergies, or with anyone who wants to start eating a simple, clean, inexpensive diet is an added bonus for me and you!

Bon Appetit!
